For files where the platform is "surface" and the data type is "event", the reported values represent single measurements. These mole fractions are calculated relative to regular measurements of a standard tank (containing a known mole fraction of the target gases). Specifically, the mole fraction for each ambient air measurement is calculated relative to the linear interpolation (in time) of the preceding and following standard measurement. Similarly, each standard measurement is assigned a mole fraction relative to the linear interpolation of the preceding and following standard measurement. The variable "value_unc" for these files (i.e. platform=surface, datatype=event) is given as the standard deviation of these calculated standard tank mole fractions within each day (hence all measurements for a single day have the same value_unc).
