Two working reference gases with 13C/12C ratio close to -47 permille are calibrated annually vs CO2 evolved from NBS19. Whole air samples are processed cryogenically and methane is oxidised quantitatively on platinised alumina at 750 degrees celcius. The resulting CO2 from the combustion is cryogenically distilled and transferred to a glass sample bottle. Samples are then measured for 13C/12C ratio. Working reference gas voltage is set to match sample voltage 3 sets of 10 determinations of sample vs reference Idle time 15sec; Integration 8 sec |
