The mixing ratio of N2O in the reference air was determined by the method reported in Muramatsu et al.(1982).
The air, which was compressed into 50 l stainless steel container up to 7 kg/cm2, was used as the reference.
Only technically false values caused by malfunction of the equipment were removed.

The outdoor air was drawn at 2.5 m above the ground surface into a gas sampling loop (2 ml).
A 95% Ar - 5% CH4 mixture was used as the carrier gas. The sample size was 2 ml. Dinitrogen oxide was separated on a 6 ft Porapak QS column at 35 °C. A reference gas and a sample air were measured in series.

This dataset was submitted to WDCGG by Michio Hirota on 2001/6/4.
Dr. Hirota retired from Japan Meteorological Agency in 2008.
