Calibration checks are carried out by using two working standards with representing upper and lower ranges of the expected environmental variability.
During the period of investigation, routine checks were carried out using Observatory working standards to evaluate possible drifts and the stability of calibration factors.
Data are recorded on a 5 s basis by the Picarro internal PC and mirrored to a station server, then delivered in NRT mode to ISAC-CNR HQ in Bologna, where 1-minute averages were calculated. On an hourly basis standard deviation values data were flagged to identify local contamination (see Data Quality Flag).

For all the instruments and Observatories, information on instrument functioning and intervention are stored in an e-logbook.

1-minute data and metadata are visually inspected on a daily basis by an HTML page reporting the last 48h of available measurements and instrumental internal parameters. Data and metadata are further analyzed on a monthly basis.
Final aggregation to hourly average will be executed using validated 1-minute data (i.e. by excluding calibration records, missed records and local-contaminated records).

Quality assurance procedures involve time series plots, consistency checks on co-variability among gas parameters, meteorology and aerosol properties
[Hourly] Hourly data were obtained by averaging 1-minute average mean values

 "I.." missed data
"..V" large variability of CO within one hour (hourly CO standard deviation larger than 30 ppb)
".L." data recorded under land breeze wind regime
".S." data recorded under sea breeze wind regime
 Temporarily suspended
Sampling Environment : Lamezia Terme CNR-ISAC station is located, 600 m from the coastline of the Lamezia Terme plane, outside the only valley in Calabria which allows the Tyrrhenian Sea to connect with the Ionio Sea. Its complex orography and its long and narrow shape create a complex interaction of breezes which develop perpendicularly the two coasts with the synoptic circulation, that mainly goes west. In detail, breezes from the sea go mainly W-WSW, while breezes from the earth go mainly E-ENE.
Some missions from agricultural mass burning form early morning to the sunset lead the occurrence of events characterized by enhanced CO values and variability expecially when wind blow from E-SE.

Description of Instruments CO observations are performed with a commercially available instrument (Picarro Inc. G2401) based on the Wavelength-Scanned Cavity Ringdown Spectroscopy technique coupled to a custom-built calibration unit. Along with CO, the instrument is also capable to measure CH4, CO2 and H2O. Thus, the CO data can be corrected for interferences of remaining water traces.
