Weekly four-point manual calibration using reference gases produced and certified by NOAA CMDL.
A quadratic response function is fit to each set of calibration gas measurements. The "zero" offset and response function are linearly interpolated in time to obtain values appropriate to calculate CO2 mixing ratio from the instrument response.
[Hourly] Hourly data are calculated as an arithmetic average from the available data. [Daily] Daily data are the arithmetic means of the early afternoon (12-16 h local standard time) hourly mixing ratio values. [Monthly] Monthly data are the arithmetic means of the daily data if data are available for more than 1/3 of month. Daily data means the average mixing ration in the early afternoon hours (12-16 h local standard time). |

Flag for 'no data available' 8 Flag for 'above measurement scale' 7 Before 1984 (scale: 304.5 - 404.5 ppm) >404.5 ppm is replaced with 412.5 ppm and flagged as 7 From 1984 (scale: 304.5 - approx. 460 ppm) above measurement scale values are replaced with the actual upper limit of the scale and flagged as 7 |

Air samples are collected continuously through an air intake at 10 m above the ground. Concentration of CO2 is measured by a Siemens Ultramat 3 non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) analyzer. The air/standard gases to be analyzed is/are saturated by water vapor at the room temperature and cooled to 4°C. In this way the water content of the gas to be analyzed is stable and its influence on the measurement can be compensated. Detection range 1981-1983 ; 304.5 - 404.5 ppm 1984-1999 ; 304.5 - approx. 460 ppm Kohler's method for the compensation of the water vapour influence. |
