 Calibration is done with an certified 226Ra standard, delivered from Metrological Institute in Prague.

 The data acquisition system gives two hour mean data. Invalid data caused by malfunction or other effects were recognized by monitoring gas flow, gas drying system, high voltage and pressure-temperature control. Invalid data are rejected.

222Rn is produced by the radioactive decay of 226Ra in the soil. It is a noble gas, produed in the decay line of the U-Ra decay. 222Rn evaporates out of the soil.
For that 222Rn is a good tracer if air masses are influenced by atmospheric boundary layer or not. The lifetime of 222Rn is 3.8 days.
