Temporal and spatial variations of CH3D in the upper troposphere over the western Pacific. Details are described in Umezawa et al. (2012).

The present CH3D measurements were done almost once a month from 2006-12-09 to 2010-03-15 for air samples collected along flight tracks between Japan and Australia or between Japan and Guam. For the period from 2010-05-20 to 2010-9-11, air samples collected during flights between Japan and Hawaii were measured.

The measurement system includes preconcentration of CH4, gas chromatgraph separation, pyrolysis and isotope mass spectrometery. Details are in Umezawa et al. (2009).

Air samples were collected into 12 titanium flasks using the Automatic Air Sampling Equipment (ASE) for the JAL airliner flights. Details are described in Machida et al. (2008).
