NIES94 CH4 scale is higher than the WMO-CH4-X2004A scale by 4.1 ppb at around 1736 ppb and by 5.5 ppb at around 1942 ppb determined by the latest round robin intercomparison: https://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/wmorr/
All of the CH4 data reported here can be used considering an overall uncertainty of less than 1ppb, although it is noted that an appropriate data selection is necessary for making time-series data sets of mean CH4, as reported by Matsueda et al.(2002a), and Matsueda et al. (2008).

If these data have an important part in the User's Product, the User must contact the Author concerning co-authorship before publication. Citing this data set as described below and acknowledging the Author are enough when these data play a minor role in the User's Product (e.g., global analyses such as inverse modeling).

When this data set is referred to in publications, it should be cited in the following format
Machida T., H. Matsueda, Y. Sawa, Y. Niwa, K. Tsuboi, K. Ishijima, K. Katsumata, S. Murayama, S. Morimoto, D. Goto, S. Aoki and M.
