The air samples were taken on board a ferry named "Hateruma" between Ishigaki Island and Hatruma Island, the southern most part of Japan and east of Taiwan. In this area, northerly winds prevail from October to March, while southerly winds dominate during rest of the year. Air samples were collected every two weeks during one of the ferry trips from Ishigaki to Heteruma. |
