Observation
 Frequency : Continuous
 Method : GC-ECD
 Instrument : Hewlett Packard HP5840 / HP5880
Description : In the ALE/GAGE global network program, continuous high frequency gas chromatographic measurements of two biogenic/anthropogenic gases are carried out at globally distributed sites.
The Atmospheric Lifetime Experiment (ALE) utilizes Hewlett Packard HP5840 gas chromatographs and the Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment (GAGE) utilizes HP5880 gas chromatographs components.
Individual measurements are generally made 4 times daily at each site for ALE and 12 times daily at each site for GAGE.

Calibration
 Scale : SIO-1998 scale
Description : The data presented here are reported in the SIO-1998 calibration scale (Prinn et al., JGR 2000).

Data Processing
 Unit : ppb
Description : The AGAGE database has been completely re-computed (April 1998) to introduce a new and improved pollution analysis scheme and thus pollution designations may differ from previous versions of the data.

Average Procedure

Flag
Description : ALE/GAGE/AGAGE measurements which are suspected to be influenced by local or regional pollution events are marked with a 'P'.
